Seton Hall Initiative hosts month-long events to bring awareness to sexual assault
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (Apr. 8, 2019)—Seton Hall University’s KNOW MORE initiative has events planned for the month of April for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The events began on April 1 and continue through the month. Events included the “Day of Action”, when students picked up teal ribbons to wear for the month, in addition to learning what can be done to end sexual violence. On Wednesday, April 10 at 11:00 on the Green, the initiative will host the “Clothesline Project”. Students are being asked to decorate a T-shirt with their story or a message of support. Other events will include:
- April 23: 1 in 5. Students will help raise awareness about the 1 in 5 college women who are victims of sexual violence every year.
- April 24: Denim Day. Students will wear denim to show support for survivors.
There is no cost to attend the events scheduled for the month. It is open to the Seton Hall community.
KNOW MORE is a student life initiative that provides education to the Seton Hall University community around sexual violence prevention, alcohol and other drugs, and bystander intervention through community outreach programs and campaigns.
